George Li has been awarded the Avery Fisher career grant at a ceremony in New York on 22 March 2016. The grant gives financial assistance and recognition to talented musicians living in the US who have shown the potential to develop exceptional careers. Previous recipients include Yuja Wang, Kirill Gerstein, Alisa Weilerstein and James Ehnes.
