George Li returns to France with the Mariinsky Orchestra and Valery Gergiev for his debut at the Philharmonie de Paris on 21 November 2016. Li joins the orchestra for a performance of Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.1, a piece of which he gave “a bracing, fearless account” (New York Times) with the orchestra in New York in February.
Li and the orchestra then perform the concerto together again for Li’s second debut of the month, this time at the Luxembourg Philharmonie on 23 November. Li ends the month with a residency at Verbier Festival at Schloss Elmau, Bavaria.
