George Li returns to the Verbier Festival on 27 July 2017, giving three performances throughout the festival. On 27 July, Li joins Pablo Ferrandez (cello) and Daniel Lozakovich (violin) at the Église de Verbier for a recital featuring a programme of Shostakovich Cello Sonata in D minor, Op.40, C. Franck Violin Sonata in A major and Mendelssohn Piano Trio No.1 in D minor, Op.49.
Li’s second performance at Verbier comes with fellow Intermusica artist Joshua Weilerstein, who conducts Li and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra in a performance of Liszt Piano Concerto No.1.
He ends his week in Verbier with his solo recital debut on July 31, when he performs a programme of works by Beethoven and Liszt.
